My messy desk

My desk is a little messy. I guess it might be time to clean up. I just thought I would try out the camera phone after it made it thru the wash. Amazing it works.

it's alive

It is true. After three days of drying time I took my phone off the top of the cable box and went upstairs to put the battery back in. At first the lights on the keys sputtered and the screen stayed dark. I thought oh no it's dead, but then I tried hooking up the charger. No help still just flickering key lights then nothing. I told my wife the phone was dead. Then I unplugged the charger and took the battery out, reseated it then put the cover back on and tried again. Suddenly the Welcome screen comes to life!!! Then it told me to put the sim card in. I turned it off and complied with it request. When I turned it on again Ta-Dah!!! It worked fine. Then we went out for Chang's Mongolian Grill.
Later after dinner my wife bought me a Wii, so I would have a babysitter while she is gone next week. That bowling game is awesome.

new photo

I messed with some new photos I took the other night out the window of our condo. This one turned out ok.I forgot about these that I took the other day when we were at the sculpture garden.

I still don't know what to ask her. Maybe what does it all mean?
These people added their own art to the garden, careful not to touch!!!I know the whole don't touch the art joke has worn a little thin (for me at least), but this was a cool performance piece and I'm glad the park has given the public a free open space where people can do it.

Here is some grafitti above the sculpture garden.I think that says it all.....

More wet phone links, Dan McCarthy

I found another wiki on what to do if you get your phone wet. It is all common sense ( take out battery asap, take out Sim card if it has one, dry visible water off, put in warm dry place for three days, make sure phone is full dry before putting battery back in, hope for the best).

In a more positive note we bought some cool art this weekend. After we noticed the bear, owl and person stickers under the West Seattle bridge were painted over/ pulled down last week, which as an aside sucks as my morning commute will not be nearly as cool now, we became inspired to fill the empty space in our living room wall. I found a artist from Massachusetts who's screen prints I really liked. His name is Dan McCarthy you can check his art out here . He is running a series that ends in Sept. were we receive one print a month, it was for a year, but you can still sign up for a partial year. Cool.

No Phone :'(

It doesn't really bring a tear to my eye, but my cell phone went into the wash today. I googled some combos of "cell razr wash" and found this blog . To save you the time of sifting thru all the replies if I leave my phone alone to dry for three days it might work or it might need a new battery or it might not function at all. I figure it can't hurt to find out. Its been several years since the last time I left my phone in my pants and they went into the wash. I had forgotten the freedom of not having a phone combined with the hope that I could find all the numbers again. Thanks to technology I don't have to worry about that now. The Sim card still works, so I just lost a few photos, nothing to cry about.

Another NTG from this weekend

My wife took this photo of a wolf with my cell phone today.
We saw it on the way to breakfast at the Dish. When we got the Dish the wait was too long, so we went to Bad Albert's in Ballard. I had the crab and cheese omelet. It rocked. Try it out if you have a chance. They had a chalkboard with this quote from Kurt Vonnegut, " Will all the believers in telekinesis in the room, Raise my hand." I liked that one.

Then we walked around the Ballard Farmers Market and Fremont Sunday Market. We found nothing we wanted.

Later we went to see Spiderman 3. My review was that only Thomas Haden Church's character was interesting. The rest of the movie was sub par for this franchise. My spider sense is telling me the clock has run out on this franchise. It wasn't a total waste of time, but don't run out unless you don't have anything else to do.

new sightings of no touching ground

A friend of my wife sent me a note saying that she saw another owl when she was out walking. So I decided I would go out and see if I could find any new animals. The owl she saw is real cool, in-flight. I also found what I think is a coyote.
I also found an impostor. or several. I didn't take photos of them all. But this one looked cool.
It was a nice drive and I also saw this nice piece of graffiti.
Now that's how I felt about the guy who tagged the fence where our dumpsters are in our building. I know its might be hypocritical to like looking at graffiti and slamming someone for tagging, but tagging without any art is just stupid.
