New stickers and a nice dog

My Capitol Hill correspondent sent me this photo of some new dumpster stickers:

and last night I saw this guy at Westwood Village when I was getting a pizza from Giannoni's and picking up a copy of " Dishdogz" . I couldn't resist a photo.

A new owl

After band practice last night I saw a new No Touching Ground owl on a building across the street. Sorry this isn't the best picture. I liked the Rat Fink like mouse below as well. The no poster sign right above is a nice touch.

Owl toaster

My wife sent me this sticker, I think it looks like an owl crossed with a toaster.

Dogleaf Sticker

This is a bad photo that I took while I was driving today.

But you can kind of see the Dogleaf child on the side of the parking structure. its down on Boren, by the Rebar. Up the Street there are some other cool ones, like a large penguin on a traffic box at Boren and Pine.

roomba

Here's a good tip, don't go on vacation and leave your roomba (robot vacuum) on to set off your burglar alarm. (not my house by the way)

This morning my wife and I got up early, before I took her to work we went to breakfast at the Broadway Grill. I took these photos after on our way back to the car.

I didn't catch this dogs name , but he loves his monkey.

I like the little monsters I have been seeing all over Seattle. They pop up on street signs and dumpsters. I also like the cranky artists becoming street art themselves. Poetic justice I say.

Owl heads posing

My wife sent me this yesterday from the dumpster for the new Cha Cha on Capitol Hill.

I like the owl people, they look ominous, as well as posing for the camera. I thought this would be a good picture for the weekend as my wife won tickets to the Capitol Hill Block Party and I think we will be spending a little time in that area. I will bring my camera to take some photos. We have to go to a wedding tonight so we might not make it until tomorrow.

New sticker on garbage container by the bank

I was dropping off a deposit today when I saw this on a dumpster outside the bank.

I think I have seen the ghost part before, but I can't be sure. The pincers almost look like an afterthought. Looks pretty cool though.

In another note, it looks like the Strangers slog has once again come to the party late. In this post Jen Graves talks about NTG. She also puts a link to the video at Dodge and Burn that shows him posting art outside and talks about his art opening last April. Just seems to me like they might not want to post his real name. I know that Dodge and Burn posted it back in April, but I think that the Slog might have a few more readers. With the recent closing of all ages shows at Atlas after the article that Eric Grandy wrote, one would think that Stranger writers might think before they post. I did learn that the stickers of creepy looking children are a different artist like I thought. They go by the name Dogleaf, here is a link to a flickr page with lots of their artwork .

Cool stickers on Alki

My wife and I were down on Alki last night getting some fish and chips, when she saw these cool stickers. I don't think these are the work of NTG, but they looked cool anyway. Sort of an angry cat / skull mask. Meow!!!

More ntg from another photog

Another NTG admirer sent me this photo from under the Viaduct. Its a little old, I don't check my email for this page too often. Its a cool one though. That kid doesn't look old enough to read.

more ntg from capitol hill

We found these the other day around Capitol Hill. I'm not sure if it is all NTG work, but it still looks cool.

It seems like the graffiti stickers are getting some more attention. I saw two posts in the Stranger's Slog about Seattle street art. It also had a link to a flickr page with Seattle Street art.

Another NTG from this weekend

My wife took this photo of a wolf with my cell phone today.
We saw it on the way to breakfast at the Dish. When we got the Dish the wait was too long, so we went to Bad Albert's in Ballard. I had the crab and cheese omelet. It rocked. Try it out if you have a chance. They had a chalkboard with this quote from Kurt Vonnegut, " Will all the believers in telekinesis in the room, Raise my hand." I liked that one.

Then we walked around the Ballard Farmers Market and Fremont Sunday Market. We found nothing we wanted.

Later we went to see Spiderman 3. My review was that only Thomas Haden Church's character was interesting. The rest of the movie was sub par for this franchise. My spider sense is telling me the clock has run out on this franchise. It wasn't a total waste of time, but don't run out unless you don't have anything else to do.

new sightings of no touching ground

A friend of my wife sent me a note saying that she saw another owl when she was out walking. So I decided I would go out and see if I could find any new animals. The owl she saw is real cool, in-flight. I also found what I think is a coyote.
I also found an impostor. or several. I didn't take photos of them all. But this one looked cool.
It was a nice drive and I also saw this nice piece of graffiti.
Now that's how I felt about the guy who tagged the fence where our dumpsters are in our building. I know its might be hypocritical to like looking at graffiti and slamming someone for tagging, but tagging without any art is just stupid.

The mystery is solved

Looks like ig from what i saw today was right many posts ago. seattlest.com reported in a post on West Seattle Blog that has a link to a You Tube video from No Touching Ground. It shows the artist putting up the moose and the owl as well as talking about his inspiration.

I'm glad to put a face to the art, but I think I liked the mystery better before it was solved. I will try looking at the artist's stuff though, even if it did seem like they were looking for a little free publicity.

new sticker under the bridge

So when we were driving to work on Monday my wife and I saw a new sticker under the West Seattle bridge. Actually it was two. this is the first time I have seen a combo in this series.

I also saw some new stuff on the way back to the car. I received a message from a fellow graffiti fan who goes by the name phase 3 which is the name we chose for our latest musical experiment. he asked what the influence for the name was. For him it was the graffiti artist from New York named phase 2 and wanted to know if I had seen his work. I looked him up and found a little bit of history on graffiti. Phase 2 was the first to use bubble style lettering. When I saw these I thought of him.

I have wanted to take a picture of this piece for a while. Its on the back of an old boat covered in ivy.
